About Flower Hill Promenade
Located on prime real estate near Del Mar’s famous race track, most residents have either driven by the outdoor mall or stopped in to visit one of the many boutique retailers. The Flower Hill project is a combination of new construction, renovation, and landscape rework. New construction for the Flower Hill Promenade included a four story, 397-space, poured-in-place concrete parking structure, along with a two-story steel building with a plaster and masonry skin. The new mixed-use facility includes Whole Foods on the first floor and medical offices on the second. To accommodate the new construction, a 45’ hillside retaining wall was constructed along the North side of the property. During construction of the wall, 30,000 cubic yards of dirt were exported through an existing open shopping center. As part of the new construction, the storm drain system was upgraded for the entire site and a new water line was installed.
To give shoppers a modern streetscape experience, Lusardi was also contracted to complete the façade renovation of the premier shopping mall. The exterior of the shopping center received a face lift by increasing the height of the exterior by 14 plus feet, and installing brand-new finishes including natural brick and stone surfaces. Interactive walkways with new decorative concrete pavers, outdoor seating areas, and new landscaping including palm trees, were installed throughout the mall to provide shoppers with a leisure shopping experience.
