UC Berkeley David Blackwell Hall located in Berkeley, CA is a ground-up, Type I concrete higher education student housing project. The project is designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz. This P3 GMP project totals 186,000 square feet throughout one structure with eight levels above grade. It includes 783 beds in dual occupancy rooms. Located on the UC Berkeley campus, the first-year student residence hall is located directly across from the newly renovated student union and a short walk to most university facilities. In addition to residences, the hall includes 7,000 square feet of retail space, 5,300 square feet of space allocated to student organizations, and an 11,000 square foot community center with study areas, meeting rooms, state-of-the-art fitness center, and student lounges. Webcor self-performed concrete, carpentry, and drywall. This project is LEED Gold®. Interior design by Sixthriver.
