About Thomas Aquinas College – Chapel of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity

* A 2010 Tucker Design Award Winning Project *

The main entry limestone façade includes a triumphal arch entry at the ground level and a Corinthian pediment above fluted and spiral columns along with Carrara statutes and heavily carved pediment with angels. Twenty Eight Corinthian columns with 13’ monolithic Botticino Marble shafts and Eighty Two marble pilasters articulate the walls that define the nave, crossing and sanctuary. The chapel flooring is decorated with various marble materials including Papal Coat of Arms. The exterior limestone façade consists of mostly very heavy panels and is mechanically anchored to the CMU walls using masonry through bolts along with heavy stainless steel supporting clips. The interior monolithic marble shafts with circular through holes were lifted and inserted onto the structural steel columns at the time of the structural steel erection.
