Throughout the design phase, OCMI is providing cost estimating services at conceptual through construction document phases for the $83 million renovation to the City’s Performing Arts Center. Originally opened in 1976, the 2,500-seat performing arts center has never been expanded or renovated. Renovation plans will focus on several areas of improvement, including: Patron improvements: ADA and building code compliance, restrooms, concessions, lobbies Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Replacement: Initial scope calls for the removal of the main theatre floor to replace the HVAC system and existing seating will be replaced in a new configuration to meet ADA standards. All power, lighting, and other mechanical and plumbing systems will also be replaced. Performance improvements: audio, video, lighting/dimming, and rigging systems along with box office, dressing room, loading dock, and rehearsal space upgrades Technical Improvements: improvements to the central plant shared with City’s convention center Now in construction, OCMI’s role continues with construction management, inspection, schedule review and change order review services. The performing arts center is adjacent to the convention center, with construction also underway, and is a part of the City’s C3 projects that will dramatically enhance the downtown area.
